Waterstruck means that a wet lump of clay is pressed into a wet mould, after which the excess clay is removed. The mould can now be lifted up leaving the wet brick remaining, as the water acts as a release agent.
After a few days of drying, the bricks are fired in the kiln using coal as fuel, after which they are mixed and packed.
The result is production of uniform non-uniform bricks in a unique varying colour play, all mixed and ready for use on delivery to the building site.
Moreover, Petersen Tegl has special production of moulded bricks, glazed tiles as well as special terracotta for new build and restoration purposes.
The bricks from Petersen Tegl with D-mark are
• Always 100 % coal fired
• Always waterstruck,
• Always mixed in advance
• Always richly varying in colour play
• Always solid and with 4 faces
Here on the website you can view Petersen Tegl’s bricks and examples of buildings in which they have been used.
